About me

The family. This is our support, our genetics, our roots. I have always felt a connection with my kin, because it was that one who rewarded me with talents and abilities.

As a child, I liked my dad’s drawings so much, they looked like caricatures, but still it was a separate form of art. He had a particular handwriting, a view of colour and shape. And here I am, his daughter, paint pieces of art. In this way he continues in me.

My great-grandfather taught “The Law of God” at the Orthodox school. And now his great-granddaughter paints icons. My great-grandfather’s brother was an artist, and during the Second World War he painted with charcoal as soon as the opportunity arose, because he could not help drawing. So I just love sketching with charcoal, for me it is a yielding material.

And for sure, all of them also are someone’s continuations. Continuations of my ancestors. What I do is not just my life's work. This is my kin’s work.
